We draw the attention of our readers to a list of properties in New Plymouth announced for sale by Mr F. P. Corkhill, of that town. These properties consist of fruit farms, etc., of various sizes, and any person who desires to acquire a property in a fertile district blessed with a good climate could not do better than communicate with Mr Corkhill. A special general meeting of the Oamaru Football Club will be held in the Coffee Rooms at 8 o'clock to-night. Important business will be considered. The Oamaru Shorthand Writers l Association will hold their opening practice meeting at 8 o'clock to-night, in the Chessroom of the AthenEeiun. The Second Fifteens of the Excelsior and Athletic Football Clubs will try conclusions on the North Road ground to-morrow afternoon. In view of the drawn match played last week between the Oamaru and Athletic second fifteens, considerable interest centres round to-morrow's struggle for precedence, as a keen rivalry exists between the three local clubs. The Grey River Argus says :—A sign of the times ! An experienced collector started out on his rounds a few mornings ago. He had accounts totalling LI 50. The result of his day's work was the collection of L 3 ss, and to get that much cost him 27s 6d in shouting. He was careful not to specify the class of debtors he had collected from. Readers can form their own opinion. The Oamaru Football Club will hold their practice on the Chelmer-street ground tomorrow, when the first fifteen forwards and second fifteen backs will play against the second fifteen forwards and first fifteen backs.
