GLADSTONE WILL SPEAK HERE ON MONDAY NIGHT. Messrs M'Malion have much pleasure in announcing the only exhibition iu Oaniaru of Edison's Latest Phonograph, the astounding talking machiue, will take place at the Public Hall, on Monday evening next. Professor Douglas Archibald, M.A., Oxon., will deliver an intensely interesting lecture, and exhibit the incredible capabilities of the marvel of nineteenth century. . . . Songs by famous artistes, speeches by W. E. Gladstone, instrumental music performed in Europe and America, full bands, bell chimes, English song birds, songs by J. L. Toole, Madame Burton, Nellie Stewart, Snazelle, George Leitcb. quartettes by the Christchurch Cathedral Choir, Adelaide Cathedral Choii\ American Colored Jubilee Choir, etc., recitations by A If. Dampier and Edison, orations by Sir George Grey, Hon. J. Ballance, Bishop Julius, T. K. Macdonald, the Hon. The Speaker, Sir Robert Stout, the Earl of Kint.ore, the Earl of Onslow, Baud selections by Tusan's Band, New York. Adelaide, and Melbourne Bands, and the Christchurch Salvation Band, will be actually reproduced with marvellous fidelity.—The box plan is now open at Kemslied's Music Warehouse, where early application for seats is absolutely necessary. Popular prices will be charged, viz., three shillings, two shillings, and one shilling.
