There are now three amendments on the Order Paper of tbe Council giving notice of motion in connection wish Sir Gsorge Whitmore's Lagialativo Council Bill. This woald be virtually fixing the Coancil at 37 members. Be alio moves that no one shall be eligible m a member of the Council unless he has previously been a member of the House of Representatives. Mr Reynolds will mova a new ctauaa by which members appointed for life who may have served 10 years shall, in the event of their resignation, retain all tbe nriviligea ta which they wero entitled as members, other than the honorariumthat ia to say, they are to retain for life the title of honorable and their railway passes. The third amendment is that tf Mr Wllsoo, who would provide that, after 10 years' service, membership on tho Council shall cease.
