When the Inniskillen Fojlleers wero landing from the train at Portsmouth to coerca the mutinous Grenadiers they sang " God "Save IreUnd," and cheered the Guards. The Yorkshire regiment Immediately replied, but the Gaatda were qaiet. The justice of the men's complaints is partly admitted. After a week's effort to par»ly«o the postal service, the postmen sent a deputation to Mr Raikes, Postmaster-General, with proposals of a more moderate nature. It fa believed tint the crisis has passed altogether. Four hundred postmen have been dismissed. BKtmd July 21, at 0.40 '.r. m. Losdos, July 12. Darfog the strike the Dolice ejected ibo postmen from several Poit Offices with violence. The union leaders called for a general strike, which was not responded to. Ths city merchants and members of the Stock Exchange urged firmness ou the pnrt of ths Post Office authorities, and nffsrod the services of their clerks. The Postmaster-General refused »o receive deputations, comprising radical members and delegates from the Trades and Libor Council, bnt finally received a deputation fro a] postmen, who asked that the minimum rale of wages should be 22s per week with a maximum of 40i. Tht-y also asked redress for other moderate grievances. The Postmaster-General promised to carefully consider tbe proposals. Trie 400 postmen who were dismissed have petitioned to be reinstated. The dockers refuse to discharge the Queensland steamer Juna, owing to tbo employment of non-union men ou board. The Brisbane passengers bad to remove their own luggage.
