Tho Sydney Morning Herald of May 13-. h says -.—The trade between this port and New Zaaland has taken another spurt. Two va»s»lii, nhoae aggregate tonnage is nearly 5000 tons, yesterday came into port, filled with oats, wheat, and potatoes, and a sailing vessel also arrived with a similar cirgo. But the increased passenger-traffic is remarkable, even when the reduced r*te of fares is taken into account. Li3t night, following close uoon one steamer which had called at all ports, the Tekapo arrived here, with upwards of 300 pasaangers oa board, equally divided in the first and second classes. A word of warning was lately sounded in Auckland to those who, tempted by the low fires, thought of leaving Sydney to try their fortune in the northernmost province in New Zsaland. It wa3 stated that many persons had arrived in Auckland from Sydney in search of employment, and were wofully disappointed. If the 300 passengers by the steamer which arrived here last night may be accspted as an average of the traffic golog on, uot only are the disappointed returning to Sydney, but a serious exodus of population is taking place from New Zealand.
