At the Newmarket meeting to-day, the Two Thousand Guineas was won by Mr A. W. Merry's Surefoot; Baron Rothschild's Leonard, 2; Ouke of Westminster'! Blue Green, 3. Klrkham and Narellan were scratched. Special to Press Association. Received May 1, at 0.40 p.m. London, April 30. Sporting writers, commenting on Kirkham's running in the Hasting'* Plate, express surprise at the form he showed, and noware more hopeful of Narellan'a chanoei In the Two Thousand Guineas.
