The sailors od the Shaw, Savll), and Albion Company's steamers have strnok, demanding 48 honrs as a week's work while steamers are In harbor. The New Zealand Shipping Company have oonceded the demand of the dockers, and endorse the demand made by the sailors. Muoh alarm is being felt in most of tho European citieß at the approaohing labor demonstrations on Thursday, and in Vienna the residents are plaolng their valuables in the custody of the banks. The firemen and drivers employed on the Great Southern and Western Railways, Ireland, will not strike, unless the military intervene. The directors have decided that if the men apologise and return to work they will give full consideration to their alleged grievances. Arohblshop Walsh is acting as mediator between tho employers and the men.
