WHAT I MEAN TO DO.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—l have been to all the Sunday schools in Oamaru, and none on 'am can make me be good. I don't mean to be rellglouß, caU3e father said he wbb religiouß once, but he had to give it up cos it did not agree with him. He coald not cusi and swear and get drank and tell lies and beat mother, and so enjoy himself. My father said, Mind Reg., he says, if you are religious you must not,"go and steal things nor screw kittens heads off, nor empty the glue pot over baby'B head, nor eat up the jam and swear it was the cat, nor do any of thosa things which make a boy truly happy. You will have to tell tho truth and be kind to things. So I could see at onoe religion was not good for a boy. My mother wants ma to be religions. She says it ia a good thing—makes boys noble and grow up to be good, useful men. I don't want to be a good, ÜBefal man, 'cos people puts on good, useful men. My mother came to me just now, as I was trying to pull an ear off our rabbit to seo how he would look going about with one ear, and she says. Regular, the gentleman that Bends bad little boys to jail is going to start a school, and I do hope you will go and learn to be a good boy. I like 3my mother a bit, so I intended to go to please hor, and I wilt keep looking out for faults and if I Gee only one about half as big as a flies kidney I will mako it ont to be a whopping size and send it to you. I shall sign my namo to this, aa it is awful mean to say natty things up agen people and not say who you are that iB saying of them so I shall (give you the name by which {my dear mother always calls me, that is, Regular Badun. Although the Press ia shut out I will go and tell the men that make the newspapers all about it. R. B.
