The report recently to hand that Lieutenant Bethell, of the mounted police, has been murdered by Kaffirs while hunting in Bechcanaland, is now proved to be untrue, Lieutenant Bethall having arrived all right at Msfeting. (special to the press association) Received August 26, at 10.50 p.m. London, August 26. The shipment of oranges from Sydney and Adelaide, by the Sorata, have arrived in good condition, but the Adelaide shipment has been plundered during the voyage. Many cases of wine by the same vessel were also plundered. Thirty Scotch Liberals are agitating for Home Rule for Scotland.
