AUCTIONEERS' REPORTS.
Mr. G. Greenfield reports that he held a sale of household furniture on the premises, Eden-street, yesterday. The attendance was only moderate, and the bidding not at all up to the mark for furniture. Tables fetched from 15s to 225.; chairs,_3s 6d and upwards; sofa and cushions," 35s ; cheffonier, 50s ; carpets. 32s to 80s; hearth rug, 30s ; range, L 6 153 ; fender and fire irons, 50s; crockery, Ac., at fair value.
CHRIsTCHURCH GRAIN AND PRODUCE REPORT. (From the Canterbury Times.) Nothing of any note has transpired in the grain market during the week. Business continues quiet, with a very moderate amount of trade passing. Wheat.—There is no change m the value of wheat. Quotations remain at 4s 3d to 4a 4d for best milling. Inferior lots are selling slowly at 3s 6d to 3s lOd. Oats remain at Is 7d to Is Sd for prime milling quality, and Is 3d to Is 5d for feed samples. The market for both descriptions continues inert. Barley.—The first barley of the new Beason was cut by Messrs. J. and J. Innes, in the Amberley district. Several others have since commenced to cut this grain in the northern part of the province. Best is quoted at 33 3d to 3s Cd ; other grades, 2s 6d to 23 10.1- , Flour stands at LlO to Lll, with a fair enquiry. _ . Rye-gras3.—Cutting is now in full swing, but wo have heard of no sales for early delivery. Dairy Produce.—Butter, 5d to Gd; cheese, 3.*.d to Id; hams bacon, SAd to Sd.
