As a result of the Intercolonial Conference/ it has been agreed between; "Victoria and South Australia to adopt free trade intercourse across csieir borders. New South Wales and South. Australia have, hesvsvor, decided to renew their existing border duties convention.

There is later news from the scene of the massacre of the captain and three of tlie crew of the cutter Leilia at Port Webber in New Ireland. Pier. .Majesty's schooner Beagle brings news of the outrage. She also reports that the Marquis de Ray's immigrants have shifted from Likiliki New Ireland, and are actively preparing to leave, and settle in Queensland. News has been received that the captain and crew of the cutter Lselia have been massacred by the natives at Port Webber.
The Border Duties Convention, which is to be renewed between New South Wales and South Australia, provides for tlie payment to the former of L 47,500 annually. Adelaide, December 3.
