We have on several occasions urged upon intending exhibitors the necessity for making their entries without delay, but we regret to say that, although time for entering closes to-morrow, those who contemplate exhibiting stock, &c., are exceedingly dilatory in taking the initial step. At noon to-day the total number of entries only reached 251, made up as follows with entries for private prizes : Draught Horses 2S Thoroughbreds ... ... ... 2 Hacks ... ... ... ... S Shorthorn Cattle ... ... 7 Ayrshire... 5 Other Cattle ... ... ... 5 Merino Sheep ... ... ... o9 Leicesters ... 25 Liucolus... ... ... ... 22 Other Sheep ... ... ... 3 Poultry ... ... ... ... 7 Dairy Produce ... 41 Cured Meats ... ... .... 2 Implements ... .. ... 2 Grain ... ... ... ... 4 Seeds ... ]4
We have still no doubt that the number of entries for the show will equal those of' previous years, asnve are aware that many of the principal exhibitors at our shows have yet to make their entries. These will greatly swell the total, which will probably be brought up to about 1000. We remind all who contemplate competing for any of the many valuable prizes that they should make an early call upon Mr. Church.
