Maude reports that at the continuation of the sale ct Mr. O'Meaghers furniture oil the sth inst., there wa3 a large atttenrfance, and, the bidding being bnsk, satisfactory prices were obtained He also reports the sale of the eoodwill of the lease of municipal section 20, block 29, Oamaru *°Mr K Leigh reports that he held a sale of household^furniture, Ac , on the premises occupied by Mr. F. E- Cook, Thames-street, yesterday. The attendance" was moderate, an«l the bidding very brisk. Haircloth aitute fetched Lls 10s ; chest of drawers, Li !•*; cheffonier, 32s fid ; iron bedsteads, from —t fld to 46d each; crockery and glassware obtained full rated. —; THE MELBOURNE MARKETS. The Argus of the 23th nit. supplies the following : —Breadstufis are tinner, the improvement in the Home market appearing to have a good effect here. Hour is now lieUl at LS 153, at which trade parcels can still be fcoaght; we hear, moreover, of a line of 100 tons having betn taken up at LS 12s o\l. Wheat is firm likewise, but there is not much fine offering.. A parcel of 250 bag 3 was placed at 4s 1 Ad. Oats are hi slow sale. saving for trade purposes there is acarcely anything doing. Common to line heavy feeding range from Is Hdto2a4Ad ; sales being reported at onr quotations. M® tze is going off at 2s lOd to 2s 10.Jd. Sales of Cspe barley are mentioned at 2s 3d to 2s 3Jd.
