An animated discussion took place in the Legislative Assembly last night regarding ;m article in the Argus on the New Members Elections and Qualifications Committee. Mr. Fincham protested against the article, which, he said, ay as a breach of privilege. Mr. Berry ashed the House to decide whether it should take such action as would serve as a warning to the Argus for all time. Mr. Service defended the Argus, and the motion which was before the House was eventually withdrawn. . The race meeting in honor of Sir Hercules Hobinson has been postponed until Monday, In the Assembly last night, a Bill to legalise the use of the totalisator was read a second time. ; Sydney, September 15.
