DTJNEDIN. September 13. The Immigration Department * has received intelligence of the sailing of the ship Dunediri, from Glasgow, for this port, on September 3, with 214 nominated immigrants. The celebrated Duck Claim, at Clyde, has been auctioned for L 61.Lee Guy, charged with the murder of Mrs. Young at Kyeburn, was brought up to-day and further remanded for a week. Messrs. Morris and Bastings were the only candidates nominated to-day for Waikaia.

CHRISTCHTTCCH. September 13. . There are seven candidates for the two scholarships in connection with the School of Agriculture. Two of these are from Nelson, two from Otago, and the rest from Canterbury. At the inquest on the bodies of Winson's children, burned to death oil Saturday, an open verdict was returned. It was supposed that the fire originated from a spark blown out of the fireplace. Winson's case ia very hard, as he had just managed to scrape enough money together to build himself a,house, and by the fire is robbed of property and children at one swoop. An appeal is made through the papers to the benevolent, and a fair sum has been collected in a verv short time.

The Benevolent Association, trusting to subscriptions from the public, have got LSO into debt, and now appeal for contributions to help them out of their difficulty. September 14. A medical examination of the body found buried at Sydenham shows it to be that of a child of about five years of age.
