NATIVE AUDACITY.

(by telegraph.) New Plymouth, September 13. Two horses, the properiy of Mr. Quinlan, were seized by natives on Saturday night, and were impounded after Maori fashion. It appeals that the horses got loose and found their way to unfenced wheat crops, when they were caught by the natives, and were taken to Parihaka. The owner of the horses went and remonstrated with the natives, but to no purpose, as they absolutely declined to gi l o up possession of the horses. The owner will probably send in a claim to Government for compensation.
