OAMARU JOCKEY CLUB.

The annual meeting of the members of this Club was held last evening, at' th'o Empire Hotel, There was a very good attendance, and Mr. Humphrey occupied -chair. After the minutes of the last annual meeting had been read and confirmed, the annual balance-sheet and report, as already published, were read and adopted. It was proposed to raise the annual subscription fee from LI Is to L2 2s, but the proposal was negatived, and the subscription, including all privileges, will therefore remain at the usual sum. The number of the Committee was raised from seven to nine, and the following were elected for the ensuing year Messrs. Humphrey, Thomson, Grant, Moss, Greenfield, Paterson, Gibson, and Leigh. It was resolved that the Secretary should in future be paid a salary of L2O a year. It was decided that cheques should be signed by the Treasurer, and countersigned by the President. The Club then proceeded to consider the lettejrfrom the Dunedin Jockey Club,, with reference to the appointment of one« handicapper for the whole Colony. After some discussion, it was decided to reply stating that the Oamaru Club approve or the principle, provided that each Club co- ■ operating have an equal voice in the* appointment. It wa3 decided that the annual race l meeting should be held on the 17th Bnd ' 18th March. , The question of holding a spring meeting was referred to the Committee for consideration.
