SUSPICIOUS FIXE AT GREYMOUTH.

(by telegraph.) Greymouth, August 8. A most suspicious fire occurred horo on Saturday morning between two and three o'clock. Dr. Morice being out on professional business? smelt a strong smell of burning. After some time he traced it to an unoccupied building belonging to Messrs. Smith and Barclay, drapers. On giving an alarm and bursting in the door it was discovered lhat the flooring of on. inner room was on fire. The building h&&i not«been occupied for over 12 months, and> the last person that entered the building left everything secure on Tuesday last. A strong gorge wind was blowing at the time, and had the fire not been discovered at the timo nothing woulcS have prevented a large part of Greymouth) being destroyed. This makes four firoa within a fortnight.
