Cumine Strachan, Governor of Tasmania, will act as deputy at the Cape until the arrival of Sir Hercules Itabinson from New Zealand.
The mails via Brindisi, per Orient Company's Coto.paxi, were delivered today, The steamer Cuzco, belonging to the Orient Company, sailed from Plymouth to-day- for -Australia. The cricket match, Australians v. 18 of Huns3@tt, near Leeds, was .resumed to-day. The Home team went in for their second innings, and were all out for 93 runs. The Australians then went in for their second and lost two wickets for 94 runs. Bannei'man was. <?aught for 55 runs. The Australian team won the match by eight wickets. August 7.
