The Town Clerk wrote Btating that the section of a footbridge over the oversow creek ac Black Point would be attended to without delay. The Chairman and other members Bavins spoken of the damage done by the overflow of water in the Black Point Creek, it was resolved, on the motion of jf r . Mnrcott, that the attention of the jlunicipal Council should be called to the fact that the overflow was becoming dangerous. The Colonial Under-Secretary wrote asking the County Clerk to name an office which the registration fees for dogs could be paid and the registry kept as required by the Otago Dog Nuisance Ordinance, 1862.—The matter had been attended to. A letter was read from Mr. J. H. Lowe, Engineer of Constructed Railways, pointjngout that the cost for the entrance gate at the Maheno station represented the coat of labor and material, with 5 per cent, added. The writer gave particulars of the account, which was ordered to be paid. The Clerk to the Waiareka Road Board wrote asking if the Council would take over the road to the portion of road-line from the County to Elderslie Railway Station, and proclaim it a County road.— Oa the motion of Mr. Todd, seconded by jlr. Johnston, it was decided to comply with the request. Jlr. W. L. F. Martin, Kurow Station, wrote drawing the attention of the Council to the fact that the plank connecting the Awakeeno Creek, two miles beyond £urow Station on the Omaramaroad, had Become detached through heavy rains, and that foot passengers were endangered thereby.—The Inspector wa3 instructed to attend to the matter. The following petition wa3 read : "To the Chairman and members of the Waitaki County Road Board. "The petition of the undersigned Holders of deferred payment sections in the Kurow district, humbly sheweth that it ia essential for the proper working of their several holdings that a district road ihoald be made from the main road in Mock 3, between section 7 and section 4. "That your petitioners therefore humbly request the Board to take steps to effect the same, and your petitioners wiD ever pray." [Here follow 13 signatures.] The Engineer was instructed to prepare plans and specifications of the work, and tendera were ordered to be called for next meeting. Mr. Wm. Gardiner, Tapui, wrote drawing attention to the condition of the main road through block 11, leading to Windsor, stating that the worst part of it was so narrow that it was impossible for two drays to pass. He also stated that owing to the gradient being so heavy it was impossible for an ordinary load to be taken over it. —The writer was referred to the Faireka Road Board. ®he following letter was read and its tauipt ordered to be acknowledged : To the Chairman, County Councillors, and Ratepayers of the Waitaki County. Notice. Gentlemen', —I intend to erect immediately a fence in the usual form, consisting of two sods, and posts and wires, oa section 5, block 4, Awamoko district. I would therefore feel obliged if yon woald cause your engineer to set out what ground yon consider i 3 required for public drain.—Will oblige your obedient servant, Peter Aitchison". Mr. Duncan's motion, that a sum of L3O be voted as a donation to the Oamaru Hospital, wa3 ordered to stand over [for the present, in order that the effect of the new Hospitals Bill might be ascertained.
