AUCKLAND. June 5. The so-called Rev. Atterbpry, alias Gorriock, was again brought up at the Police Court this morning, when he applied for a remand, sajing that he, had been so paralysed by the charge brought against him as to be unable until now to read the indictment;" The indictment includes imposing on two persons; with, a view of obtaining money by representing himself a.single man though married, and with-larceny, as .a'bailee. At 2 o'clock this morning .the,. si.eanr joinery and furniture works' at'present leased by Miy.Robert Greig, formerly of Dunedin,' we're totally destroyed by fire.. The fire was no sooner; discovered than" the whole structure was one burning mass — ; the -wind .being very,- ;high and the' building jvery; old.- . .The building wsts owned by Mr. J. Turn-bull Thomson, C.E., -and ifis understood was insured, though for' what 'amount cap-not at present be ascertained; Mr.'-Greig was insured. He was absent at the' time of the fire. Kn cause . can be assigned. The, estimated loss is'LIOOO. Some £ valuablV*-ma6bmery wasjn ; the building.
