OAMARU HOSPITAL.
The Monthly Meeting of the Committee of the Hospital was held last evening, when there were present—Messrs. Headland (President), Shrimski, Mainland, M'lntosh, Kerr, Watson, Lemon, and J. Hassell, jun. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confired, and the outward correspondence was read and approved. The Secretary was directed to write to the County Council, Municipal Council, anp Road Boards, requesting official replies with reference to the Hospital and Charitable Aid Bill.
The following report of the Yisiting Committee was read and adopted : "Your Yisiting Committee have to report that they paid their ordinary monthly visit to the Hospital to-day. They went through the various wards, and found the patients all highly satisfied with their treatment, with the attention alike of the medical superintendent of the warder and of thematron,Mrs Thompson. Your Committee desire to commend Mrs Thompson for the very attentive and careful way in which she attends to the duties entrusted to her. The filter purchased by Mr. Shrimski in Dunedin has been received, and will prove a great boon to the inmates of the institution. Your Committee desire to acknowledge with thanks contributions of illustrated papers received from Mrs. Clowes and from Mrs. Cagney. Accounts are submitted aggregating L 32 3s 6d. There are at present in the Hospital seven male and six female patients—and all in a fair way to recovery." The Treasurer and Collector's statement were received. The thanks of the Committee were ordered to be tendered to Mr. W. Sutherland and others at Livingstone who had interested themselves on behalf of the institution.
