THE THAMES-STREET CROSSING.

TO THE EDITOR OF THE OAJLVKC HAIL. Sik,—This much-vexed question of crossing the line in Thame3-street when a twin is approaching may be very easily disposed o£ by having a post fixed by the side o£ the watchman's box with a chain attached, and a post fixed by the side of the Council Chambers with a hook jecurely fixed in the po3t. On the approach of a train in either direction the lignalman could take the chain across the itreet and fasten it to the hook.
