DTJNEDIN MARKETS. Mr. Donald Stronach (on behalf of the NewZealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, limited) reports as follows for the week ending April 21st:— , Fat Cattle.—At Burnside to-day 102 head were yarded, and met a good demand, which resulted in an imp* vement upon last weeks prices of 5s per 100 lb. Bullocks realised L 6 15s to LI 1 per head, and cows L 6 os to Ui 10s per head—equal to 25s per 100 llTfor prime, and 20s for medium beef, which may fce riven aa to-day's quotations. Pat sheep were in good supply, 2803 having penned. Demand was fair. Merinos -■-"tehfid 5s 9d to 6s, and cross-bred's 9s to 12s 3d per head. We sold a draft on account of Mr Walter Miller, of Mount Stewart. Quotation for prime mutton we give the same aa last week—2d per lb. Fat Lambs.—S3 were brought forward, which sold at 8s 6d per head. Store Sheep.—Good croai-breds are in tie- | mand for fattening, but the supply is very limited. ~ , . Wool.—Transactions in this market are bow to a very small extent. "We disposed of » few bales on Monday at prices quite equal to previous current rates, viz., greasy wool as follows:—AB, 1 bale fleece, 6Jd; Waihaorunga, 3 do crossbred 9Jd, do 1 do merino 10R do 1 do sandy Sjd, do 1 do double fleece (part pieces) 7Jd; do 1 do locks and pieces 5Jd; M, 1 do pieces, 5Jd; also M, 2 do washed pieces, 7jd. Sheepskins.—At our weekly auction on Monday last we cleared a good catalogue. The attendance of buyers was large, and competition spirited; prices realised were as follows: —Butchers* Bkins, from 2s 3d to ss, according to quality; pelts and station skins, from 9d to 4a 3d ; skins in bales, 64 per lb; lambskins, 13 9d to 3s Id each. ttiAoa—We repeat our quotations of 20s for batchers' green hides, and per lb for wet-salted, at which we can place all consignments coming forward. _ Tallow.—Demand continues fair. v\ e have sold for local consumption parcelsof medium to fair at from 22s to 26s per cwt; and rough fat at 16s per cwt. Grains—Wheat: The state of the market has undergone no improvement, and we confirm onr remarks of last week. Bather than submit to present current prices, many farmers have arranged to try the Home market. Oats: Transactions have been within a small compass at Is 3d to Is 4W Is 5d to Is 6d might for prime samples. Barley: Sales of fine malting are reported at 33 6d; holders, however, are nnwilling to sell at present quotations, and for the finest samples 3s 9d might be obtained. Millers' demand is very slack, and for parcels suitable for them we cannot quote above 2s 9d to 3s per bushel.
