OTEPOPO ROAD BOARD.
The monthly meeting of this Board took place on the 2nd inst. Present— Messrs- Falconer (Chairman), Henderson (Treasurer), M'Donald, DiehJ, A. Marshall, \Vat3on, and Anderson. On the motion of Mr. Anderson, seconded by Mr. Mara hall, the romutc3 of last meeting were adopted, as read. The outward correspondence was read and approved. Mr. Biggar submitted a tracing of the road through section 69, block 3. Permission was given him to erect a swing gate at each end. A letter was read from the County Council asking what amount of general rates had been collected for the year ending March 31st, 1880. The Clerk was instructed to suppty the information. A memorandum was received from the Government, defining the meaning of the terms "gazetted"and "publicly notified." The Clerk was directed to remind Messrs. Julius and Balmer that they were a long way in arrears with the Board' 3 work. Mr. D. Sinclair applied for the formation of Cromarty-street, Herbert. The Board decided that there were no available funds for the work. The Engineer was instructed to lay off the unformed portion of Monk-street, commencing at Burgh-street and extending southwards. The Clerk was instructed to invite tenders for contracts 80, 83, and 84. Mr. Watson moved, and Mr. Diehl seconded, that the Engineer report on the best means of protecting the Breakneck Bridge. On the motion of Mr. Henderson, seconded by Mr. Diehl, LIQ were voted for copying the Valuation 8011, and making corrections. Mr. Diehl moved, and Mr. M'Donald seconded, that the accounts amounting to Lt'J'J 15a lOd be passed for payment, a3 read.
Mr. Diehl moved, and Mr. Marshal seconded, a vote of thanks to the Chairman.
