The Southern portion of the inward: San Francisco mail arrived by the express train from Christchnrch this afternoon. The revolting and mysterious episode that occurred in Cumberland-street, Dunedin, on Sunday morning sent a tremor of sympathy for the victims, a shudder of horror of the crime, and a feeling of antipathy for the perpetrator, through the breasts of all who read the sorrowful tidings.
