Some excellent scores were made", but there were some very poor totals, the 'scores tailing away from 75 to 32. The North Otago men' fell off in their shooting very much to-day. This v wag especially noticeable at ,■the long ranges, when the scoring all round was not as good aa might have bden expeoted, ; but the weather ivaa unfavorable. Harding made a very fair score' in ;i the fourth match, and takes a prize, hut Morris, who started well, fell off verymijch at the last 5 range, and King's shooting sa& \yretohed. In the eleventh matoh Morris started very well, making;'3G, each with their ten shots at 200 yards, Tbiit Harding fell off somewhat at the yards. Morris has yet to fir? at this range, but he Vfil] b<ave. to make- a remarkably §0,0.3 score \o get a position of far as the thresematches for t&e champion-: ship, haye gonp, Hardjn,g stands the four first, though' point's behind Qkey.qf " %e scores made by the North.
