It was reported once that Father Henno* berry wished to visit us with a like intention on the other side, i e., to talk against Protestants, but Father Coleman, discerning -the; unwisdom of such work, refused to countenance. his visit. If this be; true" does it not speak volumes, showing wherein the true charity lies, " without which all else is nothing." I sincerely trust that ;the citizens of Oamaru will steadily put their faces against this man [and his doubtful fission, and ask themselves would they -not feel most keenly if they, say, being- Protestants, were, wantonly assailed and their religious convictions attacked by those differing in ideas, and with other thoughts and doctrines. The motto of a Christain is "Do unto others as you would they should do unto you."—l am, &c., A Staunch Protestant.
