On an examination being made at the Winter Palace, it was discovered that a mine, consisting of dynamite and gun cotton, had beeiilaid. At the wool auctions during the past week, 9645 bale 3 havo been catalogued. The steamship Taujore sails to-day.
Three per cent, consols remain unchanged at 98. The 5 per cent. New Zealand 10-40 loan has advanced 1 per cent., and to-day is quoted at 104s-. Adelaide wheat (per 49Glbs, ex warehouse) has further advanced Is, to-day's quotations being 595. Adelaide flour is unchauged, and prices are at last quotations, viz., best beef, ; best mutton, oSs Gd per cwt. (special to press association-.) London. February 19. The Turcoman chiefs have ordered a levy of (JO,OOO. They have appealed to India and Persia for assistance, as they are deficient of Artillery. (SPECIAL TO THE MELBOURNE AGE.) London, February 19.
The Turcoman chiefs will levy 60,000 men for the purpose of offensive operations against the Russians. The Khan of Merv appeals to India and Persia for artillery.
