It was' resolved to alter the date from the 17th of, March to the 12th, so as not to clash with the Oamaru races, although the Oamaru Jockey Club have not acted.altogether fairly to the Palnierston Club, because it was well known through the means of the Press that this Club had selected the : l7th of March as their date of holding the races, ever since the first general meetiiig held in December last, and it was also the date .of the"-annua] races held last year.
