BEDOUIN is a dark brown horse, with black points ; free from all blemish, and has great muscular power. When a 3-yfar old, Bedouin beat a good field of 7 horses, including Waterwitch, Queen Bee, Kettledrum, and Lady of the Lake—distance, 1J mile. He also won the Clutha Ferry Handicap, beating Lady Ellen four others—distance, miles. He ran second to Backbiter for the Lawrence Town Plate, in IS7I ; and won the Publicans' Purse at Waiwera—distance, 2 miles. His latest performance was winning the Cromwell Spring Handicap (distance, 1J mile), easily, and he has also been victorious in many other events. BEDOUIN is brother to the well-known colt Saladin, the winner of many big events at all distances, from 1 mile to 3, in good company. BEDOUIN is by the well-known horse The Colonel, a dark chestnut, 16 hands high, free from white; remarkably handsome, long and powerful. The Colonel, by Cossack, out of Edith, by Emigrant. Cossack, by Sir Hercules, out of Flora M'lvor, by Cap-a-pie ; grand-dam Cornelia, by Grasshopper, out of Hebe, by Hector, both imported. Sir Hercules was sire of Coronation, Faugh-a-ballagb, Irish Birdcatcher, Warlock, Daniel O'Rourl'. e, Knight of St. George, and Songstress—all Derby and St. Leger winntrs in England. His grandson was sire of Stockwell, and grandsire of Blair Athol, Colleen, St. Albans, The Marquis, and Whalebone— embracing the representative of the purest and most successful racing strain of the present day. Bedouin's dam, Gunsara, is a dark brown, with black points, imported direot from Arabia, by Mr, A. Pilans, having been selected from the purest of the racing stock in the country. Gunsara is I rtr irk ably handsome and powerful, 16 hac-ds V'gh, up to almost any weight, and has won many events of 3 and 4 mile distances. The Celebrated Norfolk Trotting Stallion (-*1 OLDFINDER, Will travel the Districts of Papakaio, Maerewhenua, Ngapara, Otepopo, and Hampden, this season. GOLDFINDER is a steel grey, with black points, stands 15 hands 3 inches high, is very powerfully made, and has nice symmetry of form, with splendid action. Goldtinder was bred by William Webb, Esq., of Hiccarton, near Christchurch; is by the imported horse Quicksilver, out of Lady Margaret, by Wellington (imported); granddam Fanny, by Sir Hercules—Sir Hercules being the progenitor of the New Zealand Turf, and long proclaimed and proved to be the best blood sire in the Australian Colonies. Quicksilver was imported from England by J. W. Ladbrook, Esq., to Canterbury in 1864. He was bred by John Coker, Esq., Lynn, Norfolk, by Prickwiliow. His dam, a Phenomenon mare, the property of John Bond, Esq., Old Prickwiliow, was the champion of all roadsters. GOLDFINDER has taken several firstprizes as the best Hackney Stallion at some of the principal shows as a weight-carrier and roadster; his equal is not in the Province. He is one of the best stock getters that ever travelled. His stock, like himself, show unmistakable signs of being excellent trotters. NAPOLEON was foaled the first day of November, 1875, and is out of the celebrated Brood Mare Jess, imported from Tasmania, and selected by the late John Nimmo, Esq., West Taieri. Jess is the grand dam of the famous sire Sir William Wallace. NAPOLEON'S sire is that grand old horse Emperor, the property of Mrs. Nimmo, Taieri, that has got more prize-takers than any other horse in New Zealand. Emperor cut ot a mare imported from Scotland by Napoleon imported. Terms : L-4 4s. Groom's Fee, ss. Payable at first service. His sire was tue celebrated imported horse Blackleg (71 Scottish Clydesdale Stud Book), whj won the Highland and Agricultural Society's Gold Medal in* 1859, and the Champion Prize at the Grand National Society's Show in Victoria. Blackleg won altogether 54 b'irsfc and 2 Second Prizes. jfrinces3 Maude, the best mare that ever left Seotlaud, was half-sister to Blackleg. Heather Jock's dam was Lily Cromwell, the winner of 13 First Prizes at Melbourne, Kynetou, Melton, Bacchus Marsh, Castlemaine, Gisborne, and Carisbrook. She was got by Old Cromwell (imp.) His grand-dam was R, M'Dougall's ma-e Old Lily, by Grey Champion (imp.) Jock's great-grand-dam was a celebrated Clydesdale mare imported from Scotland. Terms—£s, payable on or before Ist Jan., 1880.
