One of the greatest events of the year, in the estimation of juveniles, is the cerenionj' which releases thein for a season in in the restraints of the sehooihouse and scholastic dutie3, and sets th m at liberty to roav.i in the fields and breathe ill a fresh supply of ozone, to prepare them for another season of study. We, too, think it a great event, for in order that a child may be capable of giving its intellectual faculties full play, it must be in sound health, and the atmosphere and sedentary occupations of the schoolroom are not conducive to health. The following is au account of the proceedings at each of'the schools preparatory to "breaking up " for the Christmas holidays 1 —
