SERIOUS ACCIDENT.
An accident of a serious nature occurred this afternoon near the new cricket ground to a man named James O'Brien. He was engaged with Mr. M'Combe clearing out a well connected with a house occupied by Mr. Barton, when some of the timber forming the lining of the well fell upon him, inflicting severe wounds upon his head. Assistance! was at once procured, and the unfortunate, man got up. Dr. de Lautour speedily attended him, but the precise, extent of; his injuries, which were bleeding pro-, fusely, could not be ascertained.
