He has a good temper, is a uilling and able worker, and has proved himself a sure foal-getter in Victoria, ilu took second prizi as a yeailing at the Smeaton grieultural Society's Show, in 1876. The same year he took the second prize at the Kyu ton Agricultural Show, and first pr'z >. as a yeariiug, and a!so Prog liy Stakes o? Jack's the L:.d—a silver cup valued £7 10?, taking it two years in succession at the Glen'tyon,Franklyn, and Daylesford Asricul tural show, in March, 1577. As a 2-year-old, he took first prize at the Bendigo Agricultural Show, 1577 ; also the same year, he took iirst-cla3s certificate of merit at the National Agricultural 6how of Victoria, at Melbourne, and the same year second prize at the tSmc-aioii Agricultural Show, and second prize as a 2-year-old at the Gleiilyon, Fi'anklyn, and Daleslord Agricultural ;-<how, 1573. He was bred by Joseph Itosendale, K-q., Glenlyon Sire, Jack's the T.ad (imported), bred by Mr. Allan, of the Inches, near jt'agleshani, by Mr. Moore's grand horse Lofty, which horse took a great many first prizes at Glasgow, Inverness-, and other places, out of Sir Allan's: grand Flower, which took prizes ail over Scotland. Jack's the Lad was imported in 1572, and obtained the first prize and first-class certificate of merit at Casdemaine ; and since he has obtain d seven first prizes and four second, and aUo the third pr.ze at the Grand National Shov Smeaton, in 18*3, and the second prize at the Grand National Sh w, Sandhurst, in 1576, and the champion prize for the bast jimal in the yard, at Smeaton, in 1875.
