The telegraphist at Miranda is stated to be in communication with the authorities as to the protection' of his wife and family. Other settlers are also alarmed at Te Aroha, and have requested protection from the Constabulary from Sub-Inspector Kennedy. It is proposed to get up a petition to the Mayor of the Thames to call a public meeting to discuss the situation.
