TO THE EDITOR OF THE OAMARU MAIL. Sir, —I find that some persona, including correspondents, have been making themselves busy in putting upon my remarks at the huntings a different con-, struction from that which I intended. I' lias been circulated that I applied tho term idiotic to Mr. Duncan. This I new did, and never even applied the tern directly to any remarks made by him, although your report would bear that construction.
