Duxedin, September 2. The election to-day excited more interest than any contest for years past, the friends of each candidate working hard. Messrs. Dick and Oliver divided the Good Templar vote, and Macassey is said to have received the Catholic vote. Messrs Reeves and Bracken were the chosen of the Liberals, and received the support of the Ministerialists. "Hie result, which was declared shortly before six o'clock, was as follows :-y T.
