Carey by the Court Martial has been quashed. .Sir Garnet Wolseley is advancing upon Cetcwayo's position beyond Ulundi. Cetewayo is inclined to treat for peace without his deposition. Sydney, August 25. Trickett I*3 the favorite for the Sculling Match, but it is believed that Laycock will be the winner. Emily is firm at two to one for the Derby. A French transport, with troops for New Caledonia, has arrived at Melbourne. There has been an extensive robbery in the City of London. The Anglicans and Catholics are writing strongly in favor of Christian education.
