At a public sale of Australian, nearly all the tallow offering was disposed of. The tin market is firm, with hardening prices. The present quotation is LG4 10s. Foreign arrivals of wheat are so large as to depress the market, Australian wheat is neglected, and is quoted at 50s per quarter. America urges the Powers to prevent Mormon emigration. It will probably shortly forbid Mormons landing. Sydney, August 12. Sydney accepts the conditions imposed by the agent of Hanlon. Five hundred sovs have been deposited, and the agent is cableing to Toronto for instructions. Nellie is backed for several thousands for the Sydney Derby. The New Zealand exhibits are in good order.

Wheat is falling in Adelaide and Melbourne.
Soothsayer and Drum Major have had a great trial galop. Martingale is the coining favorite for the Metropolitan. It is evident that the barque Ismir, from London to Adelaide, has gone down with all hands.
