OUR MARKSMEN.

The last season of the North Otago Rifle Association was a very successful one, resulting in some very good scoring, notwithstanding that on many ocpasious the weather wp.s anything b.ut favorable for sahootiiig. We give below the twelve highest aggregate scores in all the monthly competitions, from which it will be observed that the season brought several new members to the front. We miss the name of Sub.-Lieut. Morris, who last year, if we mistake not, headed the list, but who unfortunately was completely out of form during a portion of the past season, and did not complete the matches. In all 100 shots were fired, and it will be observed that eight members made an average of centres and aver during the competitions, Several other matches werts fired, and had these been included the relative positions of members would have been slightly altered. The following are the aggregates made in the monthly competitions : Captain M'Corkindale, C.C. ... 326 Qr-Mastcr Sergt. King, No. 1 ... 311 Mr. R. L. Rule 310 Sergt. J. W. Paterson (Otepopo)... 310 Captain Sumpt-. r, No. 1 ... ... SOS Vol. D. K. Rhodes (iitepopo) ... 307 Vol. R. Harding, No. 1 ... ... 300 Vol, G, .Paterson (Otepopo) ... 300 Vpl. P, R, Russell, No. 1... ... 294 Lieut. Headland, No. 1 ... ... 290 Vol. A, Hardy, No. 1 277 Mr. A. J. S. Headland ... ... 266
