At one o'clock yesterday morning the schooner Daydawn, which waa loading ballast at Ward's Island, near the entrance to tho harbor, waa driven on the rocks during a heavy gale. Nothing but her maat can be seen, and it is feared that nearly the whole of her bottom is knocked in. _ At the time she had 35 tons of ballast in. The crew reached the island with difficulty, and by means of a dingy came into harbor last night. She was insured in the South British for LISS, and waa owned by W. Cochrane, of Wellington.
