A good deal of interest was taken in the course between Gyp and Gazelle. A fine strong hare was raised, and the Southland pair had a long and very fast run, ending in a win for Gyp, the heroino of many a coursing meeting. Bruce and Hamlet were the next pair ; a short course took place. Bruce led up and scored a few points before the Totara dog got in. Hamlet, who is best suited over rough ground and with a long course, put an end to his chance of winning by killing immediately after getting in, and left Bruce a comfortable winner. Camelia, without groat difficulty, defeated Juliet, who did not seem to run kindly. Mr. Ronayne's slut led up, scored a turn and one or two wrenches, and killed, Juliet having only once got in, and then without making any show of work. The next, course, the last of the day, created a grout amount of surprise. Gipsy and Magio were slipped to a strong hare, but from strvt to finish the former had everything her own way, Magic, the winner of last year's Waterloo, being beaten pointle f " It was now nearly dark, and altlioug.. bye only remained to be run to finish tlw first ties of tlio purse, an adjournment took place.
