Tallow is firm at advancing rates. Mutton : inferior, 283 to 20a fid ; medium, 30s to 323 ; finest quality, 32s Gd to 33s ; beef : inferior, 28s to 20s Gd ; medium, 30s to 31s ; finest quality, 31s to 325. Australian wheat is neglected, and is quoted at from 47s Cd to 48s per 4!H>lbs. Considerable business is being done in wool at full rates, To-day's sales consisted of 3830 bales.
June 21. Garibaldi seeks the annulment of his marriage. The Empress Eugene, who is greatly distressed at the loss of her son, refuses to take food.
The London wool sales closed last night. The number of bales withdrawn during the season was from 30,000 to 35,000. A furthpr advance is anticipated at the opening of the next sales. The total arrivals have amounted to upwards of 230,000 bales.
