THE GOVERNOR AT AUCKLAND.
Auckland, June 16. The Governor arrived at Onehunga at ten o'clock, and was received by the Native Minister and Judge Gillies. The Mayor presented an address, and the Armed Constabulary \forme<i a guard of honor and escort. /The Governor was escorted' round the suburbs, to view the scenery' ofAuckland, and arrived in Aud&lahd set eleven o'clock. The Mayor, Mr. ! ?OE i eacock, presented an address, welcoming' the" 4 Governor to Auckland. His Excellency replied, and stated he hoped shortly again to visit the province. At the Government - -House the Mayoress presented a magnificent bouquet of flowers in a silver holder to Lady Robinson, who expressed her gratification at the present.- 2000 school children sang th'e National An thorn in front of the Government, About 700 Volunteers and a similar number of friendly societies mustered. A larse number of carriages, conveying members of public bodies, clergy, and private citizens closed the procession. 5000 assembled at the wharf to receive the .Governor, The procession was a mile long. His Excellency expressed to the Mayor his gratification at the splendid turn-out of people and the manifestations of loyalty. The town was dressed in bunting, and the gtveofcg were crammed with thousands of people. The weather was magnificent.
