[froh ouf» own correspondents.] DUNEDIN. May 23. A kitchen at Allandale was destroyed this morning, owing to the fire of the previous njght not being thoroughly ex. tinguisiied. CHRISTCHURCH. May 22. At the annual meeting of the Cricket Association the following motion, was proposed, " That in the opinion of the Association the interests of cricket would be furthered if local papers abstain from publishing accounts of. association matches, except such accounts as are sent in by the Secretary of the Association." The following amendment was carried, " That the Association does not hold itself responsible for any criticisms in matters connected with cricket that may appear in the local papers, unless authorised by the Association." The financial position' of ■ the Association is satisfactory. Hartland a.nd Secretan have the highest batting averages at 33 and 24, and C. Frith the best bowling average.
