Sydney, May 14. There is considerable uncertainty as to the result of the Intercolonial eight-oar boat race. Both crews are fit. The Victorians are heavier than the New South-Welshmen, but the Sydney boat is superior. The Torres Straits mail has arrived. She has 340 packages of merchandise, and nineteen Chinamen for New Zealand. Rich gold has been discovered at Hawkins' Heel, Talwal, Bannington. The pugilists were discharged. The witnesses were unwilling to give evidence.
