He got up, and I took him by the collar and wrist and led him. to the bottom of Wharf-street, where he seemed to become sober all at once, and broke away from me and escaped. I followed him and saw him go to an outhouse belonging to Mr. Cunningham. I left him there, and afterwards gave information to the police. I saw the accused last night fit the Commercial Hotel, and recognised him. Accused pleaded that he was drunk, and did not know anything of the occurrence. His "Worship sentenced prisoner to nine months' imprisonment with hard labor.
