The Parliamentary Committee have unanimously resolved that Sir Bryan O'Lor.u-hl 11 is ineligible to sit as a member, and have cancelled liis election.
The duty on cigars has been increased to twope- o--. Tho Exchequer bonds have been exi ,ued for a year. Sir Stafford Northcote said he did not desire to increase taxation, as the condition of the country was unsatisfactory. Peru and Bolivia are fighting Chili. A rebellion has broken out in Burmah.
