Berlin, March 20. The German authorities, replying to an interpellation* from the Reichstag, as to the extent of the official representation at the Australian International Exhibition, depends on inquiries pending. Constantinople, March 20. The Russian troops have completely evacuated Adrianople. London, March 21. The French war vessel Arrogante, six guns, foundered -during a heavy gale. •17 persons were drowned. Lord Chelmsford, writing to the Secretary of State for the Colonies, on February 9th, requests to be superseded in command of the British forces at -Natal. The Governor of Cape Colony, in an accompanying despatch, says he concurs in Lord Chelmsford's request, and points out the necessity for an officer to be selected fitted to succeed him. The Secretary of State for the Colonies, replying on the 10th, censures the Governor's policy, but says the Government have no desire to withdraw their confidence in him in the present crisis. He adds, that the Government will decide upon peace conditions with Cetewayo, but are indisposed ?o sanction the annexation of tho Zulu country. . Spain sends exhibits to the Melbourne Exhibition.

An avalanche descended from Mount Bleiberg, at the rear of the town of that name, in the Corinthia, a .province of Austria, and killed five persons. It created consternation among the villagers. The destruction was spread over a wide field, damaging some lead mines, and carrying away the works in connection with them. Many persons were injured. March 22. A commercial panic has occurred at New Orleans, and there'has been a run on the banks. Hostilities have been commenced by Lord Chelmsford. Colonel Pearson has burned Cetemayor's kraul. In the engagement which took place, much the heaviest loss was sustained by the Zulus.
