TRAINING NOTES.

Duxedin, February 22.
The weather was dull and threatening this morning, and, as a natural consequence, the number of spectators 011 the course was rather limited. Mata stripped, and opened the ball by doing a two-mile spin, finishing up the last mile at a rattlingpace. Mr. Webb's representatives, Dundee and Adamant, followed with a preliminary canter in clothing, and then were stripped and sent on a flutter of a mile. They went with considerable freedom. Camballo did two miles and a distance with his rug on, Huntingdon joining him after the first mile, and Eversley bringing them home over the last quarter. The Agent took a two-mile run, while Venus Transit covered the same distance at a very smart pace. Otakia and Duntroon did a mile and a half spin ; while Nemo, Foul Play, and Mario Antoinette, having only arrived last night, were treated simply to short breathers. Fishhook was taken over the Cup distance, Fenella accompanying him over the last mile. The performance of the crack was watched with the keenest interest, and the distance was carefully timed. He did the first mile in 2 min. 1 sec, the second mile in 1 min. 55 sec., and the whole distance in 4 min. 10 sec. To AVhetu went over his two miles in fair time, while Templeton, Titania, Maritana, and Sinking Fund took their mile at half speed. Mr. McGregor's Numa completed a milo-and-a'-half spin with his clothing on, and Sapphira, King Quail, and Ratcatcher performed a twomile gallop at a good stride. Mr. Paterson's Little Lad}' Colt had a mile and a quarter at a pretty fast pace, while the promising c«-lt Playboy w 7 as the only one of Mr. Goodman's quartette that was given any exercise ; three-quarters of a mile was coosi.{..-i-ed sufficient for him. Vampire, Sir --umus, Cloth of Gold, and Dead Heat did a mjle at a canter. Laertes, the Slander Colt, Kildaro, King Philip, Minnie, Tommy, and Te Kooti, were on the ground, but were only given walking exercise.
